Meet bubbaguts

Hi all and happy Tuesday today has been rather sunny and nice for Autumn here in Australia. I would like to introduce you to my first and so far only hand raised baby that my other half and I fed from a very young age. Her name will always be Bubba even though she is about six months old now. I call her Bubbaguts even though she is a runt. Out of three siblings she's the only survivor, she is tough! There breed are greencheek conures and their mutation color is Pineapple so pineapple green cheek conure. We have a few species of conures in our avieries namely greencheeks. They make a fantastic pet bird. This is her dad
This is her and her siblings in the nest box with mum
When her siblings passed away there was her and another but sadly she ended up being the only survivor. We didn't think she would make it as she was born with a brain problem where she would lurch around like she was drunk or fall flat on her back like a turtle and couldn't get up again. Hence why we took her out of the nest box and reared her ourselves as she wasn't able to crawl back to the mother for warmth after being on her back. Her parents rejected her.
this was one of our first pics of us feeding her it was a long process with us having to get up at all hours to make sure she was being fed every four hours. Luckily we didn't have to feed her right off otherwise it would have been on the hour. Here she is now she's a funny bird, very snuggly but she doesn't show any capability of flying and she is rather scruffy looking and still has balance problems but we're working with her. She'll aways be my baby bird.
