Honesty

"You may be sure that your sin will find you out." (Numbers 32:23)

Coming home from work, a woman stopped at the corner deli to buy a chicken for supper. The butcher reached into a barrel grabbed the last chicken he had, flung it on the scales behind the counter, and told the woman its weight. She thought for a moment. "I really need a bit more chicken than that," she said. "Do you have any larger ones?"

Without a word, the butcher put the chicken back into the barrel, groped around as though finding another, pulled the same chicken out, and placed it on the scales. "This chicken weighs one pound more," he announced. The woman pondered her options and then said, "Okay. I'll take them both."  

Don't you just love it?

Honesty is still the best policy - and we can be sure of this, our sins/lies will find us out - even if it is eventually!

Suggested prayer: "Dear God, please help me to always be honest with myself, with you and with others in all of my dealings. Please forgive me where I have sinned and, wherever possible, help me to put right any wrongs that I have done to others. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, in Jesus' name, amen."

Wednesday - Caption Me

Before we do the caption me - I've been meaning to post this. Before August is completely behind us - here it is:

Did you know ... that the phrase "the dog days of summer" refers to the placement of Sirius, the largest star in the Canis Major ("big dog") constellation, in the night sky?
For most of July and August, Sirius rises and sets in coordination with the sun, and the ancient Romans believed that the brightness of Sirius - added to that of the sun - was responsible for the warmer weather.
We now know that the earth's tilt is responsible for the change in seasons, but the old expression has persisted nonetheless.

Assistant Cat

I'm not sure how I came across this adorable photo the other day but I've been thinking about making it my email signature at work.  It's just an adorable kitten slaving away on the computer working 9-5.  Well, actually, I have no idea why we still call the average workday 9-5 considering most people work 9-6, right?  Either way, this picture makes it all seem pretty absurd.

Bear Hugs Care Package

Here is a group of photos that one of my customers took to show how her pup received a 'Bear Hugs' Care package from me.  My customer ordered and purchased this group of items and I sewed them, packaged them up and included a gift card, that I purchased from Eva, on our team, and then shipped it off to a traveling Pup named Monte Cristo Travels....they live in Quebec, Canada and they travel a LOT.

Montecristo Travels had this to say about the collection:
"I have no words to tell you how touched I am by the amazing generosity of Carrie and the Canine Crew and Pauline Hutchins for the "get well" package I received today!!! Look for yourself!! You ladies ... THANK YOU SO MUCH!! This is amazing!!! sweet and fits and is practical and just ... awesome."

the koala

another animal that lives in our area is the koala, koala literally means does not drink as koalas don't need that much water to survive. These are google found images.

koalas are one of my personal favorite Australian animals. hope you enjoyed
