Since it's Thanksgiving, I thought these tips might be useful this week :)
.
-Feed her first: If your dog or cat is really full, she just won’t be as inspired to beg for more.
-Don’t give in to guilt: No matter how she manipulates you with those Oliver Twist eyes, remind yourself that she is already well-fed and doesn’t need people food.
-Make her leave for leftovers: If you decide to slip her a snack, do it away from the table.
-Say it with spray: To discourage brazen behavior like stealing food or being too pushy, use the plastic bottle you use to spray plants and hit whatever part of your pet is handy.
-Isolate the problem: When your cat or dog is driving you crazy, tell her “No!” and calmly put her in the other room and shut the door. Eventually she learns that if she doesn’t beg, she doesn’t get sent away.
-Try a sticky situation: If your pet’s begging includes jumping up on the kitchen counter, try putting strips of double sticky tape in strategic spots. Pets hate the sensation of getting a little stuck.
Give in -- just a little: Some people love feeding their pet at the table. To compromise, try slipping her something healthy, like lettuce. If she doesn’t like it, you’ve done your part, and if she does like it, your not loading her down with fattening food.
