But, I would also consider programs for fostering to adopt. You get to have the pet in your home giving it a chance to be out of the stress of a shelter and seeing if the pet will be a good match for your lifestyle before making a commitment to a lifelong pet relationship.<br /><br />I would also look into a variety of shelter organizations and support "no kill" shelters.
