A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS

A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is
likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You
have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.

5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your
voice when speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt
you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if
something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I
have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you
can't bear to watch Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier
for me if you are there, because I love you so.

~Take a moment today to thank God for your pets Enjoy and take good care
of them.

Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without God's critters..

~Now please pass this on to other pet owners. We do not have to wait for
Heaven, to be surrounded by hope, love, and joyfulness. It is here on earth
and has four legs!

Catnapping

When your catnapping, any position, any location, any time is OK...
The Half Sit-up
To achieve the half sit-up, you must begin with the intention of exercising your abs and promptly fall asleep midway through the task.
This position is extremely advanced and not recommended for amateur sleepers.

The Awkward Spoon
The goal here is not so much for intimacy, as it is the socially uncomfortable sharing of your physical space with someone.
Bonus points if your arm falls asleep and you're too scared to move it.

The Cool Dude
The trick here is to look totally relaxed while you're really extremely uncomfortable.

Bed Hog
The goal is not so much comfort, as an expression of sheer, unadulterated greed.

Thinking Outside the Box
Two of your feet - preferably on opposite sides of your body - must remain outside the box at all times.

The Pile-Up
You end up colliding with at least three others, and you are hoping they all have insurance.

Be The Box
You must be able to get your whole body in the box, no matter what it takes.
Become one with the box!

The Radiator
Your main goal here is not about comfort......it's just about warmth.

The Sleeping Dog
This one is easy. Find a dog. Imitate the dog.

The Positive Thinker
You refuse to let a bad situation get the best of you.

The Drying Rack
Imagine that you are a wet t-shirt. Drape yourself accordingly.

The Head-Rush
Lay on your back, head hanging off the side, paws in the air - and let gravity do the rest.
A pounding headache will incur shortly.

The Non-Conformist
You will first need to find two willing conformists, in order to make your statement.

The Mid-Sentence
This position is only for those with extreme forms of narcolepsy.

Some Assembly Required
Have a friend take you apart and then try to reassemble you from memory.

Same as above, except without the box.

The Dog Bed
It's probably the most comfortable bed you will ever sleep on, but smells kind of funky.

The Dreaded Mid-Afternoon Slump
Eating a big lunch, then falling asleep at your desk.

The Old Married Couple
Your mate's snoring no longer bothers you.

SHOW AND TELL WEDNESDAY- DaVinci Talks

I know DaVinci looks like a mess because he likes to over groom and pluck his feathers, but he is a cutie and a sweet boy, and .... he talks.
Of course what he is saying is probably a lot clearer to me, but he is talking and saying a number of sentences. His favorite being "How does a cat go... Meow".
But every morning he comes out of the cage and I say "kiss kiss" and I give him a kiss on the beak. He reaches forward for his kiss, and I say thank you.
So here he is i the following video, saying over and over:
"Kiss kiss" then a "kiss" sound, and "thank you"
Another sentence I thought would be cute to teach him is "Momma is so pretty". (Well someone has to tell me. LOL) About half the way through he says "Momma is so pretty" He says it about 3 times.

He will only talk when there is noise in the background, so I had to keep the TV on.

Squirrel Studies 102

Sasha here as your doxie instructor once again in Squirrel Studies 102.  You all did so well last time on the squirrel pawtrol that a little more training might make us even better.  So here we go.

From this video you can see that the Squirrel Pawtrol has developed a chemical from fermented pumpkins that makes squirrels more like dogs.  They are unable to climb trees which decreases their ability to drop nuts at us.  Also, they are more easily distracted by chasing their own tails.  I think we may need to do a bit more field tests with this pumpkin concoction though before wide spread use.

From this video, you can see a domestic disturbance with Mr. And Mrs. Seed Snatcher squirrels.  One thing to note is no critter should interfere during such situations.  Key signs of domestic disturbance is about to begin is when Mr. Squirrel reminds Mrs. Squirrel that she is suppose to be on a low seed diet.

This is a brand new video taken at the top secret squirrel lab 51.  You can see this kitty scientist is gathering much observational data from behind a 2 way glass wall.  The squirrels think they are at a new all you can eat bufett place.   New training is yet to come from the pioneering efforts of  all our hard working squirrel pawtrolers out there.

Friendship

Another e-mail find from Pauline from paulinesfashions.

After losing his parents, this 3 year old orangutan was so depressed he wouldn't eat and didn't respond to any medical treatments.
The veterinarians thought he would surely die from sadness. The zoo keepers found an old sick dog on the grounds in the park at the zoo where the orangutan lived and took the dog to the animal treatment center.
The dog arrived at the same time the orangutan was there being treated. The 2 lost souls met and have been inseparable ever since. The orangutan found a new reason to live and each always tries his best to be a good companion to his new found friend. They are together 24 hours a day in all their activities.
They live in Northern California where swimming is their favorite past time, although Roscoe (the orangutan)is a little afraid of the water and needs his friend's help to swim.

Together they have discovered the joy and laughter in life and the value of friendship.

They have found more than a friendly shoulder to lean on.

Long Live Friendship!!!!!!!I don't know... some say life is too short, others say it is too long, but I know that nothing that we do makes sense if we don't touch the hearts of others... while it lasts!

May you always have..Love to Share, Health to Spare, And Friends who Care.

Koala twins

It is not common for a Koala to bear twins and, regrettably in this instance, the Mum was struck and killed by a passing car. Fortunately, the driver stopped, and took the mother to the local vet, not knowing she was dead - where it was soon discovered that she had these twins in her pouch.

First photo: Tiny Koala being fed with syringe...so tiny!!
Followed by a pictorial chronology of their growth...

Thanks for saving my life!
It is just so nice to see a story that has a happy ending
in these troubled times that we live in. Taking care of
others is a great way to forget about our own problems
and difficulties!
